Signs Your Sump Pump Needs Repair
It may not always be obvious when your sump pump is broken, but here are some of the telltale signs that indicate your system needs repair: musty smell or mildew in your basement; float switch is stuck; system makes loud noises during operation; or sump pump hasn’t run since it last rained.
Our team will diagnose the problem and present you with options for repair. If you have an older sump pump that is experiencing frequent problems, it may be more cost effective to replace it. We can help you decide if repair or replacement is right for you.
Choosing Your Sump Pump
Our sump specialists can help you choose the right unit to fit your needs. The two main types are submersible and pedestal pumps.
Submersible pumps:
- Placed below the water in a basin; the water is pumped through it
- More durable and longer lasting than other types
- Best for homes that will rely on the pump for everyday use
Pedestal pumps:
- Pump sits on a pedestal above the tank and cannot be submerged in water
- Requires more frequent replacement
- Best for homes that will use for emergencies only
